Outdoor Meeting: Saturday 26th October Field Trip: North Norfolk Leader/Coordinator: Martin Spriggs

Outline plan is as follows: – Meet for a 9a.m. start at the Beach Carpark at NWT Cley for an hour of sea watching. We will then move to the Cley Visitor Centre for Toilets/Coffee as required before visiting the hides on the reserve, (Please don`t forget NWT membership cards). Depending on time and weather we may have a look at East Bank. Lunch may be taken at the centre, please bring refreshments or use the café. Then moving on some 8.5 miles to arrive at the North Point Pools. (No facilities here except plenty of bushes). The area has two relatively new scrapes and attracts waders and geese. The scrapes are viewable from the path and via grazing meadows, from a raised grass covered moraine deposit. This area also gives access to the seabank overlooking Wells Salt Marsh and part of the Holkham Nature Reserve. For the end we will move 2 miles back to Stiffkey, parking at the shore, down Green Way, to watch for raptors coming in to roost. All, of course, is subject to change on the day according to weather conditions etc.

Leader’s phone number on the day: – 07717284391.
