Wednesday 4th June – A Wensum Valley Walk

This 2 hour approx walk takes part in the area between the Rivers Tud and Wensum and has a rich variety of habitats including riverside, woodland, marshland, reedbeds, hedgerows and arable land. Birds likely to be present in June (but not always guaranteed to be seen!) include Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat, Grasshopper Warbler, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Garden Warbler, Little Owl, Barn Owl, Tawny Owl, Buzzard, Cuckoo, Yellowhammer, Reed Bunting, Marsh Tit, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Goldcrest, Kingfisher, Hirundines and Swifts.

Meet at 7pm at Gunton Lane recreation area car park TG 190 108 . There is room for about 8 cars in the car park otherwise you can park on Olive Road TG 190 107 but please don’t block the residents’ drives. Stout footwear is advisable.
