WHAT IS IT?
An annual fun day out! The WVBS teams set out at 08.00hrs to find the most birds they can see or hear in the Wensum Valley recording area in daylight hours.

Rules:
• Teams can be 2-4 people, if two, both must see the bird; if three, at least two must see the bird; if four, at least three must see the bird.
• Teams must report to the club HQ at Weston Longville Village Hall by 16.30hrs. when the results will be counted and there will be a chance to enjoy well earned refreshments.
• Pensthorpe is out of bounds on the day.
• Sightings record sheets are provided and these can be returned to you, once data has been recorded.
• You can start anywhere within the WVBS area after 08.00hrs
• All species counted must be seen or heard

We have a unique trophy awarded to the winning team. While this is seen as a competitive team event, it is a fun day and the main thing at the end of the day is we produce a record of the birds seen in the Valley.

WHEN IS IT?
The next event will be held on Sunday 4th January 2015. To sign up, see the list on the table at the November & December indoor meetings. There will be space for your preferences to join a team, lead a team, offer to drive a team and to let us know your meeting point.
Any new members, if you are wondering how much you need to know and would like to participate, please join us and put your name on the list. We will do our best to team you up with someone who knows the birding area. This is a great opportunity to gain some more birding experience.
Everyone is welcome to go for a meal afterwards at the Bridge Inn, Lenwade. Please remember to tick the box on the sign up list if you want to join us for this., e-mail wvbs.secretary@gmail.com
