Sunday 30th November – Strumpshaw and Buckenham

co-ordinator – Mary Walker

Meet in RSPB Strumpshaw Fen car park for a 9 a.m. start. We plan to walk all the way round the reserve , which can be very muddy in winter. Wellies or stout footwear are advisable. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of drinks as there are limited facilities at Strumpshaw (there are toilets), but none at Buckenham.

We shall drive over to Buckenham at about 12.30 p.m., meeting in the station car park for lunch. Please wrap up warmly as the walk out at Buckenham is very exposed, but the rewards are usually great with flocks of wintering wildfowl, Golden Plover,Winter Thrushes, Bean Geese, Short-Eared Owl and Peregrine. Weather and birds permitting we hope to stay until dusk for the Corvid roost.

You are welcome to join or leave the event any time but please tell the co-ordinator your intention.
