Sunday 27th November – BTO – The Nunnery, Thetford

Coordinator – Mary Walker

Please meet in the BTO Nunnery Car Park (TL 873822) at 9.30 a.m, where Su Gough, BTO Training Manager will welcome us with coffee. This is a wonderful opportunity to be guided “off piste”  with Su as she shows us round the BTO Nature Reserve,  which lies to the south of Thetford, between the valleys of the rivers Thet & Little Ouse, extending upstream from the Nunnery, along the banks of the Little Ouse and incorporating several flooded gravel pits. It is home to 60 species of breeding birds.

Su’s proposed agenda for the day is :-

9.30     Coffee & Welcome (and a comfort break!)

10.00     Guided Walk around the reserve, birdwatching.

12.30      Back to the Nunnery for lunch break.

13.00      Talk. The work of the BTO and history of the building

13.45      Tour of the building.

14.30      Finish & farewell coffee break.

Please bring a packed lunch and warm clothes, and be aware that the paths may be muddy.   Toilet facilities on site.

A small donation to the BTO would be appreciated as a thank you to Su.

Please sign the attendance sheet at a meeting or contact: for further details.
