Sunday – 28th July – Sparham Hall Farm – Moths and Birds

Sunday 28th July – Sparham Hall Farm – Moths and Birds leader Charles Sayer

Charles Sayer, owner of Sparham Hall Farm, is one of the most conservation conscious farmers in Britain. He has kindly offered to show us the moths he has trapped the previous night and then, time permitting he will show us around some of the farm and discuss the conservation measures he is taking while running a modern farm.
This field trip starts at 8 a.m, meeting at Sparham Hall Farm which can be found by:
a) If heading North on the A1067 (Norwich to Fakenham road) go through Great Witchingham / Lenwade then take the first road on your left, after about 1 mile.
b) If coming from the Fakenham direction on A1067, after coming off the Bawdeswell bypass take the 2nd road on your right, after about 2 miles.
This is Lyng Road, the road you would take to Sparham Pools. Take the first track on your right and park neatly in the farmyard. Map ref. TG 073186. If you go as far as the 40 mph sign you have gone too far! Turn back and it’s the second track on your left!
If  you are interested in joining us and are a member please put your name on the attendance sheet at one of our meetings. Or you can see Lin Pateman or any Committee member at one of our future events or contact Ray Gribble 01603 872709
