Saturday 2nd July – Bioblitz at Scarning Water Meadows

WVBS will be represented at and supporting the Bioblitz at Scarning Water Meadows in Dereham on 2nd July. You will recall that in recent years Wendy Brown has taken us for an evening walk round this wonderful place.  Can you spare some time on that day, particularly if you live in Dereham or the surrounding area?  and are willing to help with activities or just on our stand.  The activities will be run by the organisers with the help of NWT representatives.

Activities include walks for both children and adults; recording and people to collect the results from the recorders; pond dipping, mini beast hunting, plant/ insect/bird identification, nest box making, bird feeder making, opening moth traps .

The time of the bio blitz is 11 am to 4pm and we  need members to help with setting up our stand.  Setting up will take place from 8am.

We have a table in the marquee which will be on the main playing field and for setting up purposes the access will be via the Gorse Close gate which is off Violet Way off Welden Road off Draytonhall Lane which lies between the A47 and Dereham Road in Scarning.

For all day parking for visitors there is the Cherry Tree car park in Dereham. The Meeting Point car park opposite Bishop Bonner’s Cottage and the car park off Cowper Road at the back of Iceland offer two hours of free parking . The car park off Commercial Road at the back of the library offers three hours of free parking.
