Saturday 23rd September – Field Trip to Burnham Overy Dunes

Coordinator – Sue Gale

This is an all day trip to Burnham Overy Dunes and around, although it is perfectly possible to leave at any point. The area is good for Autumn migrants, and we might hope for a scarce or rare bird while we are there. We will meet at Burnham Overy Staithe at 10.00am, at which point the tide will be beginning to recede. This means anyone parking on the ‘beach’ will not have to worry about their car. It may be possible to relocate and park on the A149 at the junction with the road to Leath House (853439) so that we can walk down the lane rather than all of the sea wall.

The walk to the Dunes is over 1 mile each way, and there are a further mile of dunes we can explore. Depending on what we find and what is reported in the area, we may move on to other North coast sites later in the day. Please bring food and drink if you intend to stay long. There are no facilities on the dunes.
