Saturday 10th June – A Field Trip to Cley and Kelling

coordinator Phil Borley

This event has been held successfully for the last two years, so let us hope for deckchair weather and Pimms!. We will meet at Cley N.W.T. Visitor Centre on the A149 Coast Road, 6km north of Holt NR25 7SA / TG054 440 for a 1.00pm start. Facilities Cley V.C. open 10am-5pm. We will be birding in the Cley area depending on where the birds are! At about 5.30pm we will head into Holt for fish n’chips from Alberts Fish Bar, 22 Albert St. Holt, NR25 6HX 01263 712955. The intention is to eat our supper and enjoy drinks at Kelling Heath, meeting in the Heath Car Park TG099 418. At 6.45pm we will leave the Car Park to look for heathland species culminating in the evening nightjar watch until dusk falls. Please remember to bring clothing and footwear for Norfolk June conditions which may be hot sun, chilly winds and rain! A torch and insect repellent may be useful too.

You can sign up for all or part of the day at the April/ May indoor meetings. If you have any questions or require more detailed directions, please speak to Phil at the indoor meetings.
