Outdoor Meeting : SWT Carlton Marshes Reserve – Saturday 30th June

Meet in the car park at 9.00am. Post code NR33 8HU.

There is no entry fee for this Suffolk Wildlife Trust reserve. If the Visitor Centre is open facilities are available. We will take the path leading to the River Waveney looking for Warblers, Marsh Harrier and hopefully Hobby. At this time of year many species of flora will be in full bloom especially Southern Marsh Orchid. We will ring for the Turnpike Ferry which will take us across the river to the Waveney River Centre. £3 for a return trip, free for Suffolk Wildlife Trust members on showing your membership card. An ideal spot for coffee, or something stronger, at The Waveney Inn, there will be time to look around this venue, marina, shop etc. Returning back to the car park lunch can be taken in the picnic area. In the afternoon we can take in the scrapes for birds and look for the Fen Raft Spider. Depending on time, Oulton Marshes, NR32 3JP, is just a short drive away.
