Outdoor Meeting Sunday 26th January – Holkham

Leader/Coordinator: David Gibbons

The planned itinerary for this walk is as follows:-

Meet at 09.30 in the Village Car Park at Holkham. This at present is a free carpark: For those of you who are not sure of this spot, do not turn right into Lady Ann’s Drive on arrival at Holkham, as this will take you to the beach and the pay car park, but turn left up past the Victoria Hotel towards the Holkham Park Gates. After approximately 300 mts. the parking area will be on your right. (If anyone prefers a less muddy car park, you can Pay and Display in Lady Ann’s Drive, and then meet the rest of the group at the roadside entrance to the drive.) We will walk back down to the coast road and on down Lady Ann’s Drive towards the sea, viewing the water meadows on both sides, and arrive at the Visitor Centre which will be open from 10.00 until 16.00. for coffee, toilets etc. Then we will move along to the hides along the pinewoods edge: These overlook parts of the Holkham Reserve . Then cutting across through the woods to the bay the tide will be falling (Low Water 13.33) to view the sea. We will then make our way back for lunch at the carpark. Afterwards we will travel back to visit North Point Pools: Only the centre path will be available and is usually quite muddy but it also allows access to the Coast Path along the marsh edges.

If you wish to take part please telephone 01603 569897 or e-mail wvbs.chair@gmail.com . If you have booked and want to cancel please telephone on the same number.
