The Re-opening of Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve By Seamus O’Dowd

Sculthorpe Moor Nature reserve is re-opening on Monday 15 June. There are issues at hand, these
are on the website and are listed below:-
The reserve is open seven days per week, 8 am – 4 pm. Last entry is 3 pm
• To work safer together, we are limiting access to the hides—one person per window. During
busy times, please respect other users who may also want to use the bird hides.
• All visitors are requested to wear a face mask if using the hides
• We have taken several reasonable steps to allow us to reopen.
• All hide doors and windows are to be left open.
• Please respect and maintain a 2m distance when entering, on the reserve and in the hides.
• The visitor centre is now operating a one-way system in places; please follow the arrows.
• We have cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures in place. Visitors are requested to
use the external toilet.
• Our boardwalks are narrow in places, but we do have some passing places. To minimise risk,
please pass each other quickly.
• To support the continuing work at Sculthorpe and the staff we rely on donations on entry.
Please use contactless payment if possible
• Please note the car park gates shut at 4 pm.
(The coffee machine & cold water font are working, but there are no snacks or merchandising. I
suggest that visitors bring their own food and drink. Picnic tables are still available outside the visitor
centre.)
