New meeting location

New venue for our indoor meetings

The Society has been informed by the Committee of the Great & Little Witchingham Memorial Hall (Lenwade Village Hall to you & I) that the hall is to close permanently in the near future as it has reached the end of its economic life. This means we have had to find another venue for our indoor meetings so from January 2007 the Society will meet as usual at 7.30pm on the third Thursday of each month at Weston Longville Village Hall.

Weston Longville is only a short distance away from Lenwade, it is 1 mile south west of Morton (near Attlebridge) off the A1067 Norwich – Fakenham road. How to find Weston Longville Village Hall From the A1067 at Morton (TG124170) near Attlebridge take the minor road (Marl Hill Road) in a south-westerly direction. Follow this road for a mile as it climbs out of the valley. About 300m after a minor crossroads you begin to enter the village, the village hall is the first building on the left-hand side of the road.

The entrance to the parking area is marked by a small brick wall set at an angle to the road. There is a small 30mph sign on the left hand side just before the entrance. From the A47 at Honingham take the minor road signposted Wood Lane at TG097123 in a northerly direction (opposite the road to Barnham Broom). Follow this road for about 3 miles and you will enter Weston Longville. Go past the church on the right and the Parson Woodforde public house on the left.

The Village Hall is about 100m on the right after the pub and is the last building in the village. Look for the small brick wall mentioned above which marks the entrance to the parking area adjacent to the hall. The building is painted cream. We hope this change in venue will not deter you from attending the indoor meetings and that you will come along and enjoy the excellent range of speakers next year.
