Return of the Summer Bird Count – 7th June
Published May 2, 2009 | By popular demand the Summer Bird Count is to be re-introduced into our outdoor programme and the proposed date are Sunday 7th June. Make a note in your diary.
The Winter Count was so popular that we have been requested to re-instate the Summer Count to this year’s programme. Richard Norris has kindly volunteered to organise it.
March09: Trip to Felbrigg Hall Park – Spring Birds!
Published May 2, 2009 | It was Sunday at last, our chance to learn our bird identification by sound as well as sight. Glen had suggested that if we went to Felbrigg early we could get an hour in before the official start at 9.30am to hear the dawn chorus.
AGM this Thursday 16th April
Published April 14, 2009 | Just a reminder that the Annual General Meeting is this Thursday 16th April, 7.30 pm at Weston Longville Village Hall. Apart from listening to the Chairman’s and Treasurer’s Reports you will vote for the new committee and also have a relaxing talk
Tern raft refurbished
Published April 14, 2009 | A party of intrepid souls under Ray’s guidance had a very smelly day on Thursday cleaning and refurbishing the tern raft at Sparham Pools.
On Sunday the raft looked splendid, just waiting for the return of our commn tern colony.
Feb09 – Hickling Nature Reserve and Stubb Mill Raptor Roost
Published April 7, 2009 | Having met up at the Hickling Broad Visitor Centre, 26 members set off along the Bittern Trail ably led by David Knight. Within minutes cries were going up from all directions – Redwing, Fieldfare, Linnet, Reed Bunting, Yellowhammer and Green Woodpecker. I didn’t know which way to look first!
