Shrinking Birds – Extract from The Scientist (Oct 2010)

Global temperatures have risen an average of 0.6 degrees Celsius in the last century. What effect that may have on the planet’s species is hard to predict,but a recent paper evaluating data from more than 100 different bird species over the past five decades found that many of them have shrunk in size.
